design draughtsman.
Draughtsman from all disciplines will
be considered for this permanent position.
You will have
the opportunity to train with the best ship designers in this
industry and work on the worlds largest shipbuilding
contracts.
Full trainign on the TRIBON design system will
be given.
To prepare working drawings, documentation and
instructions or information as required and to take part in other
activities of the Technical Department.
MAIN DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop the technical detail as
instructed by the supervision to ensure that the design intent is
implemented in an efficient and cost effective manner and that
there is a satisfactory interface with other parts of the
ship/system. Similarly for non-shipbuilding contracts.
Using CAD equipment, prepare 3D CAD models/ 2D
drawings/documentation to an agreed format, which contains all
the information necessary for manufacture and installation in a
clear and unambiguous form suitable to the requirements of the
user. It also includes the operation of other specialist system
software necessary during the process of drawing creation and
drawing archiving.
Ensure that all the materials required
are identified and defined and prepare appropriate parts lists
and materials lists for procurement and material management
purposes.
Where relevant, interpret and advise on
drawings received from other shipbuilders and modify as necessary
for company use.
Advise and liaise with other
departments/organisations to ensure correct understanding of the
information issued and to resolve queries arising.
Maintain and modify drawings/documentation to incorporate
design changes, desirable feedback of production experience and
other appropriate modifications.

identified work that is within your capability

courses for the improvement of their own capability, as
requested.
