Description
Purpose of Role:
• The company has recently implemented
SAP BPC (formerly OutlookSoft forecasting, budgeting and
reporting) • This is a new role created to take over the
support from the project team and ensure adequate knowledge
transfer occurs between the project team and the support
team • The role sits within the existing commercial systems’
support team which provides support for the Group’s finance and
HR / Payroll systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. In
the short term to ensure knowledge transfer of processes,
procedures, known issues and tasks, from the project team into
the support team 2. Manage the SAP BPC servers (including web
servers, database servers, reporting, run-time servers etc) in a
Active Directory environment, ensuring that each server has 100%
uptime 3. Troubleshoot problems with networks, client installs
and user reported issues 4. Undertake 1st / 2nd line user
support; ensuring issues are passed to the relevant person within
TM or to the vendor 5. Monitoring system logs and activity on
all servers and devices 6. Providing internal and external
auditors with assistance and support as required and having a
pro-active approach to system security and management 7. Work
closely with other staff engaged in similar functions in the same
physical location or as part of a virtual team, providing cover
and support as necessary 8. Attending and actively
participating in weekly (or as required) meetings
Key
Skills Required:
1. Strong experience of Systems
Administration role working in Windows Server 2000/2003 and MS
SQL Server 2000/2005 2. Demonstrable experience of supporting
a BPM package (e.g. OutlookSoft, Cognos, Hyperion, Business
Objects) and working knowledge of the architecture and structure
of BPM systems 3. Working knowledge of Visual Basic
Script 4. Working knowledge of Internet Information Services
5.x and 6.0
Other Skills:
1. Exposure to ERP
systems 2. Some accountancy knowledge would be an
advantage 3. Report writing skills (e.g. Crystal, Impromptu
etc) 4. Unix skills and / or JavaScript
Ability 5. Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to
all levels of
the organization
General:
1. Educated to
degree level or equivalent 2. Mobile, able to travel within
UK 3. North-West based, to work in Chester
city-centre 4. Able to work independently, be self motivated
and resourceful 5. Salary negotiable based on experience and
skills
Hours: 09.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday with ad
hoc out of hours work and some travel between
sites
Location: Chester City centre but initially London
Canary Wharf for two weeks - all expenses paid
for
